ORDER:

In the Government? Orders first and second cited above, the Government have issued orders for premature condemnation of vehicles numbering 52 attached to various Government Hospitals/Taluk Hospitals under the control of Director of Medical and Rural Health Services.? Out of the above 52 vehicles, 36 are Ambulance/Mortuary Vans eligible to be replaced in the ratio of 1:1 and the remaining 16 vehicles are other types of vehicles eligible to be replaced in the ratio of 2:1.? The Director? of Medical and Rural Health Services has proposed to replace 20 vehicles against the total number of 52 prematured condemned vehicles under Part II Scheme for 2001-2002 at a total cost of Rs.80.00 lakhs.? As replacement of premature condemned vehicles should be done in phased manner as per the existing orders, proposals for the replacement of remaining vehicles will be considered in the coming years.

2. Sanction is accorded for incurring a non-recurring expenditure of? Rs. 80.00 lakhs (Rupees eighty lakhs only) for purchase of 20 vehicles against replacement of? prematurely? condemned vehicles under Part II Scheme 2001-2002. The Government?? also direct that the above vehicles be allotted? to the District Headquarters Hospitals / Taluk Hospitals as mentioned in the annexure to this order.

3. The Director of Medical and Rural Health Services is requested to follow the guidelines prescribed in G.O.Ms.No.1285/Home (Tr.V) dated 23.8.93 and G.O.(MS).No.174 Home (Tr.V) dated 2.2.1993 while purchasing new vehicles.

4. The expenditure relating to District Headquarters Hospitals and Taluk Headquarters Hospitals respectively shall be debited to the following Heads of Accounts:
