ORDER:

Four Health Equipments Repair units had been set up at Thanjavur,Madurai,Coimbatore and Tirunelveli for the maintenance, rectification of cold chain equipments such as refrigerator, freezers, ILR, etc. to preserve the potency of life saving vaccines. Each Health Equipments Repair Units has been provided with one light? motor good vehicle to reach the working spot. with required spares and tools to rectify the major break down complaints of cold chain equipments then and there. The present Health Equipment Repair unit vehicles? in the Districts? of Madurai, Coimbatore , Tirunelveli and Thanjavur? have served for more than 12 years and have frequent break down and that the spare parts for these standard vehicles are also not available in the market due to the closure of firm. Further heavy expenditure is incurred to put these vehicles road worthy. Provision of new vehicles are very much essential in the place of the above vehicles to look after the major works of the cold chain equipments, to preserve the potency of life saving vaccines. The Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine has therefore requested the Government to replace the above Health Equipment? Repair Unit vans with Mahindra Delivery Vans for the above 4 Health Equipment Repair Units, at a total cost of Rs.16 lakhs, under Part.II scheme 2001-2002.

2. Sanction is accorded for incurring a non-recurring expenditure not exceeding? of Rs.16 lakhs (Rupees Sixteen lakhs only) for purchase of 4? Vehicles against replacement of 4 Standard condemned vehicles to the four Health Equipment Repair Units functioning at Madurai, Coimbatore,Tirunelveli and Thanjavur under Part.II Scheme 2001-2002.

3.The expenditure shall be debited to the head of account 2211-00-Family Welfare - Scheme? in the?? IXth Five Year Plan II State plan - JE Immunisation - to pre-school children with Triple vaccine? 21 Motor vehicle -01 Purchase.

4. While replacing and purchasing? the? vehicles? for the use of Government? departments the procedure prescribed in the G.O.(MS).No.174? (Home (Tpt.IV) Department dated 2-2-93 and G.O.Ms.No.1285/Home (TPT.IV) Department dated 23.8.93 shall be followed invariabily.

5. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.??????????????????????? 71479/Health I/2001? dated 1-10-2001.
