Family Welfare services are provided in Government Hospitals, Primary Health centres and other Approved Private Hospitals at free of cost to ensure healthy and happy family. As per the Government orders in G.O.Ms.No.282, Health and Family Welfare Department, dated 28-09-2001 cash compensation is being paid to the Acceptors of Vasectomy and Tubectomy Sterillisations performed in the Government Medical Institutions and Voluntary Institutions as detailed below:

Diet is provided by the institution free of cost and transport facilities are also given to the Acceptors free of cost.

This Government are providing facilities for temporary contraceptives for women who want to postpone or space the birth by inserting Copper-T and distribution of Oral Pills at free of cost in the Government Institutions. Similarly Condoms are being provided at free of cost in the above institutions for men who would like to avoid child birth.

Medical Termination of pregnancy services are provided to women who want to terminate unwanted pregnancies at free of cost in all Government Institutions (approved for doing MTP). As per their choice plain MTP or MTP with any one of family welfare method are provided to the women.

In respect of Mother / Father who have undergone sterilization and in case of the death of their children, if they want to have child at a later date, this Recanalisation facilities are available at the following institutions.

(iii)?????????????? Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, Coimbatore.

A fixed solatium of Rs.5000/- is being paid to the Family Welfare acceptors in case of failure of sterilization.

Screening done for all family welfare acceptors to identify early Cancer Cervix (PAP Smear Test) at free of cost in all Teaching Hospitals.

Mother who undergoes sterilization and dies in any Government Hospital, Local Body, Voluntary Organisation and Approved private Nursing Homes, is paid a compensation of Rs.2.00 lakhs by National Insurance Company Limited, in addition to the compensation of Rs.25,000/- to the husband sanctioned by Government of India. The Government have ordered for extension of the scheme up to 30.04.2003.
