  • This department is involved in the production of Diphtheria toxoid, using sophisticated fermenter and crossflow filtration technology.? Experimental production of dual antigen, combining Diphtheria and Tetanus Toxoids with aluminium phosphate gel has been successfully accomplished.

  • In addition, the department undertakes the blending of adsorbed Tetanus Toxoid converting 5 batches into a single 100 litre batch, making use of an imported vibromixer.

  • Research activities towards development of alternative simpler technique for production and testing of diphtheria toxoid are underway.

  • The Pertussis wing was conceived to initiate the spadework for Pertussis Vaccine, an essential component of triple vaccine.? The work on standardization of production procedures is in active process.
