It is proposed to conduct counselling for filling up the vacant posts of Readers in various specialities in teaching medical institutions by promotion. The counselling will be held as details below:-

??????????????????????? The vacancy position in various specialities will be intimated on the date of counselling only, as it depends upon the outcome of counselling proposed on the previous day for transfer from among the existing Reader/Professor.

?

??????????? The annexure to this memo contains the names of medical officers and their C.M.L number who are likely to be considered for promotion as Reader, subject to eligibility. They are requested to attend the counselling definitely without fail. It is also informed that any medical officer whose name is not appears in the annexure but senior to the last name and CML number mentioned against each speciality should also attend the counselling subject to their fulfillment of prescribed educational qualification and the period of teaching experience.

The medical officers who attend the counselling for promotion to the post of Reader should bring with them the latest service particulars containing date of birth, date of retirement, CML number, date of appointment in Tamil Nadu Medical Service, Educational qualification, year end month of acquiring Post Graduate qualifications, complete service details from the date of appointment to till date, duly mentioning the post held and the speciality where he/she had worked and date from which worked. The above details should be furnished IN DUPLICATE by the Heads of Medical Institutions where he/she is working now. Besides, a certificate as to whether any disciplinary action is pending/contemplated against him/her is essential. Currency of punishment ordered will also debar the promotion. Hence, in the case of punishment ordered, certificate to the effect that the punishment had been implemented and the currency of punishment is over with copy of the punishment order has to be furnished.

OTHER CONDITIONS:

?

  1. The counselling is arranged for the vacant posts existing on the date of counselling only ; Other than the vacant posts, request for posting to any other institutions and post will not be entertained.

?

  1. The medical Officers invited for the counselling should be permitted by the Heads of Medical Institutions and their absence from duty for the day of counselling may be treated as duty.

?

  1. No TA & DA will be permitted.

?

  1. The authority to decide the final orders of posting will be the Government.

?

  1. If any of the Medical officer is unwilling to take up the Reader post at the institutions concerned they should submit the relinquishment for the post of Reader either temporarily or permanently in the prescribed format at the counselling hall itself.

?

  1. If any medical officer is either absent of fail to furnish the relinquishment in the prescribed format, it will be construed that he/she is willing to be considered for promotion for the post of Reader anywhere in Tamil Nadu and he/she will be proposed for postings as Reader at the appropriate stage.

?

  1. Places opted in the counselling hall will be final and cannot be changed under any circumstances after the counselling.

?

  1. Medical officers promoted & posted to a particular place after Counselling should work there for minimum period of one year & he is not eligible to attend any counselling till that period is over. This will be applicable for the counselling held hereafter.

??????? ??????????????? The contents of this memo should be brought to the notice of all Readers/Professors in the institutions without fail. Further, the copy of this memo may be displayed in Notice Board in a conspicuous manner.

??????????? With a request to send intimation to all the institutions under their control with specific instructions to the Heads of concerned institutions to send the qualified seniors to attend counselling in the Speciality without fail. It is their responsibility for it.
