M.D.(SIDDHA) COURSE 2006-2007

??????????? Applications are invited from General, Special Category including? Foreign Candidates from Countries? Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Singapore for admission to 80 seats in the three year M.D(Siddha) Post-Graduate Course 2006-2007 session in the? Government Siddha Medical College at Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli District and? Chennai.

??????????? The Medical College at Palayamkottai offers 60 seats divided in all six branches of Siddha Medicine: ??????????? Maruthuvam, Gunapadam, Sirappu Maruthuvam, Kuzhandai Maruthuvam, Noi Nadal and Nanju Noolum and Maruthuva Neethi Noolum.?

? ????????? The Medical College at Chennai offers 10 seats each in Maruthuvam and Gunapadam. Admission will be made on merit based on a competitive examination and in accordance with applicable rules of reservation.? The competitive examination is compulsory for all candidates including Physically Handicapped candidates. No Entrance Examination is required currently for Special Category candidates.

??????????? ?? ???????? ??QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION (INDIAN / FOREIGN CANDIDATES)

??????????? ??????????? Graduate in BIM (Siddha) or? BSMS Degree Examination of the Madurai-Kamaraj University,? Tamil Nadu? Dr.MGR Medical University or Madras University, OR a pass in the BIM? (or ) BSMS examination considered equivalent and which has been recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi OR a pass in the BSMS degree or equivalent degree awarded by Jaffna University, Sri Lanka or any other Degree Course recognized by the Central? Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi.? Proof is required for successful completion of Internship. The candidates should have registered their names either with the Tamil Nadu Board of Indian Medicine or in the Tamil Nadu Siddha Medical Council, Chennai.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE :

Non-transferable Application forms will be issued from 10.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M. from? 5-5-2006.?? Application forms and Prospectus may be downloaded from websites at "tnhealth.org" and www.tn.gov.in/mdsiddha or may be obtained in person from the Principal, Government Siddha Medical College, Arignar Anna Government Hospital of Indian Medicine Campus Arumbakam, Chennai 600 106, Tamil Nadu and the Principal, Government Siddha Medical College, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli District, Tamil Nadu by giving a request letter along? with? application processing? fees by way of a crossed demand draft issued by any Scheduled Bank drawn on or after 1-5-2006? for Rs.750/- (Rupees Seven hundred and fifty only) in favour of " DIRECTOR OF INDIAN MEDICINE AND HOMŒOPATHY CHENNAI 600 106"? made payable at? CHENNAI.? SC/ST candidates domiciled in Tamil Nadu are exempted from payment of? application fees of Rs.750/- if their signed, written request containing full residential address is accompanied by a copy of BIM / BSMS certificate and? an attested photocopy of?? community certificate.? Forms issued? to an SC/ST candidate will bear? name and community and are not transferable to any other candidate.

?All candidates (including SC/ST) may also obtain application forms by post by enclosing with their letter and? application processing fees (exempted for SC/ST candidates) a self-addressed envelope of size 30 cm x 20 cm affixed with postage of Rs.50/- (Rupees Fifty only).? Postal requests sent without postage paid envelope will be rejected.

Application forms and Prospectus downloaded from our website and submitted for consideration shall be accompanied by a demand draft of Rupees Seven hundred and fifty only?? as mentioned above (SC/ST Candidates are exempted from this fee)??

??????????? The completed? application together with enclosures should reach the Secretary, Selection Committee, Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homœopathy, Chennai 600 106,? Tamil Nadu in the cover provided by the due date.? Applications received after the due date and time for any reason or postal delay shall? be rejected.????????????????

APPLICATION PROCEDURE ( FOREIGN CANDIDATES)

Foreign candidates shall follow the same procedure as for Indian Candidates, but they shall correspond only to the Selection Committee, Office of the Director of Indian Medicine and Homœopathy, Arumbakkam, Chennai 106 for obtaining application forms or they may download the form from our websites.?? However, they shall pay, without exception, a sum of USD 45 (USD Forty five only) by IMO or banker's demand draft? payable on a scheduled bank at Chennai.? Applications complete in all respects? accompanied by payment for application forms downloaded from our website and all required enclosures should be received? by the Selection Committee? by 5.45 p.m. on??? 17 -5-2006.

Candidates should apply well in advance.? Delay of application or loss in transit will not be an acceptable reason and such applications shall be rejected.
