Awards Recieved 

The Institute was presented with the prestigious "UNESCO Mandram Award" in 1970 for its commendable role in the eradication of Small pox.

Centenary Celebrations

The centenary celebration of the institute was held on February 27, 2000. 

Major Annual Events 

The major Annual events that take place at the Institute are the Continuing Medical Education (CME) program and sports.

Dr.K.V.VENKATARAMAN ENDOWMENT LECTURE is conducted every year, from 2003, with funds donated by Dr.K.V.VENKATARAMAN's family members

Sports 

The Institute has produced eminent sports persons who have represented the Institute at the state level and won several trophies.
